It’s that time of year again and what better way of getting into the Christmas spirit than picking the perfect Christmas tree. At Merryhatton, our Christmas trees are all Scottish grown and you have the reassurance of the Merryhatton guarantee of quality.

Our real Christmas trees will be available from end November. Pot-grown trees - ideal for the doorstep - are available from early November.

Decorating your Christmas tree
Getting the tree is just the beginning, the fun part is decorating it – but make sure the rest of your home and garden are not forgotten! At Merryhatton Garden Centre we sell everything from baubles to garlands, lights and other decorations to put in and under your Christmas tree. Browse through our assortment online or visit us instore at our Garden Centre in East Fortune.
Caring for your Christmas tree
If you have a cut tree, treat it like a bunch of flowers - cut a little off the base so the tree can take up water. Put it into water immediately after it is cut so that the end doesn't seal up and prevent the uptake of water. Keep it away from direct heat such as a fire or radiator and ensure that the water doesn't dry up.
If you've chosen a pot-grown tree, think of it like a houseplant. If you're putting your tree up indoors, remember that it has to deal with a dramatic change in temperature and it's best if you can acclimatise it gradually so that it gently becomes used to the warmer indoor temperatures. Make sure it is kept well watered and away from direct heat. If you plan to put it outdoors again after Christmas, acclimatise it again in reverse, and minimise the watering provided until it begins to grow again in the spring.
Delivery of your Christmas tree
From November 30, you’re welcome at Merryhatton Garden Centre to hand pick your Christmas tree. If you prefer, you can simply order your tree online.
Either way, you can have it delivered to your door - simply let us know your preferred delivery date on the Checkout screen. We deliver most days in December except Tuesdays and Thursdays.

If you'd like to know approximately what time your tree will arrive, please call us on the morning of delivery and we can give you an indication at that stage.
